Pageturner 3 - Week Five



The fifth week of Pageturner 3's development is over.


Here's what I did:

- Implemented Scene 5

- Created a background

- Created a music track

- Implemented Achievements


Chapter 1 is now finished. Though I'm calling it "Chapter 1", the game actually is not explicitly split into chapters while you're playing. However, it does have a certain formula, so it made sense to organize it into three chapters for development purposes.


So, I didn't really meet my goal because I'm two days late. The week went by really fast again, and I spent most of it working on commissions and procrastinating.


I have a clearer idea now of how to rework the story, which requires rewriting, but that's okay — I was basically done with all of the stuff I'd originally written, so it's no big loss.


It does mean that from now on I'll have to write the scenes on top of implementing them — which is going to be a bit tricky, given my tendency to avoid writing above any other thing I do.


Fortunately, this week will just be Scene 6, an insert scene, and a Freetime section, which are... pretty easy? The really tricky stuff will be in Week Seven.
